Porta Nautic Glasses
The company was founded in 1932 by several business men including Rudolf Wehner, a man with years of experience in the watch making trade before being taken prisoner in the first World War. Following the War, Wehner continued in the watch making business but relying on the import of Swiss raw materials. The company continued to expand and eventually was able to import watch movement machinery from Switzerland (albeit indirectly as there was an import ban). The company was now producing its own movements, with several new calibres introduced. However in 1945, the factory was bombed. A new factory was set up just outside Pforzheim and in 1948 the Porta factory was established, producing complete watches rather than just movements.
