Arctos Glasses
The Arctos watch brand was founded in 1924 by German merchant Philipp Weber and Swiss watchmaker Jakob Aeschbach in Pforzheim, Germany, a town known for jewelry but lacking in skilled watch technicians. The company, known as WEBER & AESCHBACH, initially focused on assembling watches for other brands but later introduced its own "Pforzheim Collection" in 1931, which was a success with wholesalers. By 1932, Arctos was producing 320 watches per day. In 1962 Weber died and the company was headed by theArctos young Werner Weber. As a result of years of research, in 1971 Arctos company presented the prototype of the first quartz watch, produced in Germany. In 1982 the demand for high precision watches rose dramatically and soon The German Ministry of Defence assigned Arctos company to create chronographs for pilots and submarine captains. Ceased production in 1994.
