The “Actulite” Helix is unique.
The light produced is polarised light, it is equivalent to natural daylight and it does not emit any glare or cause any disturbing reflections.

The human eye has evolved to use daylight and is at its most comfortable in this light. The eye ‘sees’ by using receptors known as rods and cones. There are around seven million of these in each eye. Conventional artificial light contains a very high peak of yellow wavelength light, and less than 20% of the rods and cones in the human eye can recognise yellow light. Light produced by the Actulite system is recognised by 98% of these rods and cones, giving further substantial improvements in vision and reductions in visual stress.

It can be shown that using this light is most beneficial to health. It cuts the incidence of eyestrain, stress, tiredness and headaches. It improves the working performance and well-being of the user. No other desk or task light uses this technology or gives these benefits.

The “Actulite” Helix floods the perfect amount of equivalent natural daylight over a normal size working area (i.e. desk or work-station) giving a visually comfortable and stress free environment. Because of the much higher levels of contrast achieved with polarised light, it only needs approximately 65% of the light levels of conventional lighting to obtain the same visual perception.
